Due to a majority of voters and an overwhelming majority of interested voters being in favor of loosening the contentious content rule, the Yiff Dungeon Staff has decided to amend rule 2.3 Contentious Content. In short, contentious content *may once again* be posted in main, but MAY NOT be linked with a direct image link, such that the image will open inline with chat. Doing so will result in an immediate 15 minute silence. We strongly encourage the use of imgur album links and F-List links, as these do not open in line. Note: This rule applies to the Chatzy only. You may NOT post cub in the discord, per Discord's Terms of Service. We cannot change this rule. Rule 2.3—Contentious Content in MainDo not discuss in detail, roleplay, or post direct image links to Contentious Content.
If you discuss in detail or RP something on our Contentious Content list, it must stay in PMs. Additionally, if your ref(s) feature contentious content, they cannot be directly linked in main (i.e. they must not be able to open inline with the chat). Contentious Links that open inline with chat will be deleted and met with a 15 minute silence, with NO warning. Subsequent offenses will increase in duration, per usual. You may still link it openly in your status, since this cannot open in line, and post album or F-List links. The following is classified as Contentious Content:

We've once again opened up applications to join the moderation team for our chat! If you are interested in joining the moderation team, please fill out the form below to apply. If the form below is too difficult to read as embedded, you can also click here to view the form directly. Good luck to all those who apply!
As of today, we are welcoming three new moderators to the staff: Cyric, Liluth, and Intezra!
Please congratulate them and try not to be too hard for their first official week! Also: on Monday at 3 pm EST, the chat become public again. We have returned to silencing new visitors on entry. If you are a regular and find yourself silenced (as was an issue in the past), please be patient! Please PM a mod and one of the staff will get to you as soon as they can. This is a glitch that chatzy has that we cannot fix, so don't blame it on us! The silencing upon entry helps us with the spammers that might try to come into chat, so it's not something we are going to get rid of (since we know that always comes up in suggestions). Another few months pass and another massive change, eh? A few of you might have noticed the update already, but due to the change to Chatzy's visitor system and the prevalence of ban evaders we're introducing a new way of handling user. With that in mind, Senka's Yiff Dungeon is Invite only for the foreseeable future. So, new users not welcome? New users are still welcome, but they will require someone to vouch for them. If you want to invite your friend to join us, do it! We just require that you fill out the form found here. We don't yet know if this will be a permanent measure but as it stands it is the safest and grants us the most control. Thank you for your continued support. As I promised in the chat, I'm going to try and expand a bit on what is happening with Chatzy and why people are ending up silenced. But, first of all I wanted to give a welcome to the moderators who passed the trial: Eryna, Koko, Chyenne and Alexsandra. You can find out more about them and the other members of staff by heading over to the Staff Page, or clicking here. They've all proved very dependable and have helped us keep the room running much more smoothly. The chatzy update issues Getting back on topic, Chatzy had an update which brought a lot of cool features, like limiting the amount of users in a room, which means we have essentially killed bulk mode by preventing more than 115 users to enter at any one time. There are other features, such as tracking users' names (hugely useful when following trolls who log in and out just to ac like idiots), and some we don't really use (like limiting the length of usernames). One change in particular that has good bits and bad bits is how Chatzy handles "visitors". I personally believe it's linked with their Chatzy ID, which replace emails, that have lead to Chatzy making a bit of an overhaul to the way the visitors are displayed and handled. Before, when you went to the visitor list you could only see 40 visitors, or the most recent 500 if you expanded the list. Now, it will show you the most recent 1000 visitors. They've also added the ability for you to look through all visitors by status as hyper links. Hopefully soon they'll implement some /mod or /admin to let you bring up the staff pages in a hurry. To see an imgur album of the above pictures with slightly more descriptive captions please click here. Now, this all seems great. If someone needs a mod, they can just type /visitor or /v and get taken to the visitor list, then they click the moderator tab and see which moderator is available. As stated before, I really hope they implement a /mod and /admin short cut to go straight there. Then if people are curious to see who is banned they just click the banned tab. Et cetera, et cetera. The issue is that before we seemed to have a near infinite capacity for how many users we could keep in the list. Now, Chatzy seems to have decided "1000 is enough". That means, Regular + Silenced + Unknown + Banned can't equal more than 1000. When that threshold is reached, people who are offline seem to be pushed from "Regular" off the list and when they re-enter, Chatzy thinks they're "new" and entering for the first time. This is why people keep getting silenced. Bear in mind we get around 600-700 vsitors a day and used to have 200+ accounts on the ban list. Before the update, we had over 7000 accounts registered. That is why people are constantly being re-silenced. Well, whatcha gonna do about it, Izzy? I have already sent a message to Chatzy asking them if it'll be possible to change this because it's really affecting our chat. They've not replied yet so I'm just about to send off another message asking them again. I'm also going to ask them if they prefer me running a Strawpoll of you all to see if I have a few hundred supporters, or if they would prefer that I encouraged you all to copy and paste my message to them once each. For now, we just have to grin and bear it and hopefully they will work something out. All the best, Izzy New admin and 8 Trial mods appointed It's been a while since I shared any kind of update here so let's get back to it. We're coming up on Christmas but Christmas comes early at Senka's. First of, me and Senka discussed it and came to agree that a new Admin would be a good idea. With that we looked at our options and decided that Luna would be the best addition to our team. As he longest serving and most consistent moderator, Luna was an obvious option for us. The three of us trust each other, work well together, support each other and all in all see eye to eye on a lot of issues. Please give all your best to Luna as she settles in to her new position. It's a busy time of year and it's a big step up but we know she's the right choice for the room.
Further to the appointment of a new admin, we've also processed all the moderator applications and come down to a short list of 8 applicants that the Admins and Senior Mods have agreed to give a shot. So please welcome:
If you see them struggle, please bear with them since they're all still trying to get used to their new roles as members of staff. Don't make their lives worse just for the hell of it. Lastly, due to feedback on the PayPal donations and the limit of options, we've created a new fundraising option: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/SYD We've had to commit to a £200 minimum over 30 days, but considering we've already raised £60 that should be doable. If that target is reached we will have enough funds to cover a whole year and then some so please help us reach our donation goal! That's all for right now, hopefully we'll be able to make these updates more frequent. Let us know what you would like to see here and what kind of updates you want. Cheers, Izzy So...
Some of you might have seen me mumbling or bumbling around he chatroom about this website. It became an idea I was playing around with after I decided to open Donations to users of the room. However, I decided I needed somewhere to host the Terms and Conditions of donations so people would know what they were getting themselves into and wouldn't come raging at me later (which they still might, obviously!) Then I started playing around with this page and things grew. I realised it would make sense to have a place where we could host ALL the shit I've created. Like, a page where we can embed the Moderator Actions, the Complaints Form, Appeals and other stuff like the rules and Staff. I was reasoning if I kept it all in one place it'd be easier for people to find the stuff they were looking for since they could just click around and wouldn't be relying on the stupid links I have been using. Further, it'd be a good place to post updates and changes so people can see it even if they're not online at the moment where we try to spread the word. We'll try to add stuff here, maybe adding artist highlights and things like that. Cheerio! Izzy |
